Recipe for Masala Dosa:


For the dosa batter:

  5. Once the batter is fermented, mix it well and adjust the consistency by adding water if required.
  6. Heat a non-stick pan or a cast iron skillet over medium flame.
  7. Grease the pan with oil using a small piece of cloth or a brush.
  8. Pour a ladleful of batter into the pan and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
  9. Cook the dosa on medium flame till the edges turn golden brown and the surface is cooked.
  10. Flip the dosa and cook the other side for a minute.
  11. Remove the dosa from the pan and repeat the process to make more dosas.



For the potato masala:


  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.
  2. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add urad dal and Bengal gram dal and sauté till they turn golden brown.
  4. Add chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, and curry leaves and sauté for a minute.
  5. Add boiled and chopped potatoes and mix well.
  6. Add salt as per taste and mix well.
  7. Cook the potato masala for 2-3 minutes till the flavors blend well.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves and keep aside.










To assemble the Masala Dosa:


  1. Place a dosa on a plate with the cooked side facing upwards.
  2. Spread a spoonful of potato masala on one half of the dosa.
  3. Fold the other half of the dosa over the masala to form a semi-circle.
  4. Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.
