Hyderabadi Laziz Lamb Handi Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 kg Lamb's ribs
- Three teaspoons Ghee
- Five teaspoons Curd (Dahi / Yogurt)
- Four teaspoons Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
- Five teaspoons of Ginger paste
- 10 Garlic cloves
- Salt, to taste
- Two tablespoons Oil
- 6 Onions, sliced
- One teaspoon of Garam masala powder
- Two teaspoons of Tomato paste
- 3 Tomatoes, chopped
- Three teaspoons of Fresh cream
- One teaspoon of Red Chilli powder
- One teaspoon of Turmeric powder (Haldi)
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder (Jeera)
- 1/2 teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhania)
- One teaspoon of Garam masala powder
- One teaspoon of Lemon juice
- 1 1/2 cups Water
- Coriander Leaves, chopped
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, add the lamb ribs, curd, Kashmiri red chilli powder, ginger paste, garlic, and salt. Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat ghee and oil in a handi or large pot over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until they turn golden brown.
- Add the marinated lamb and stir well to coat the lamb with the onion mixture. Cook for 10 minutes on medium-high heat.
- Add tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes.
- Add water and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 1-2 hours or until the lamb is cooked through and tender.
- Add fresh cream, garam masala powder, lemon juice, and coriander leaves. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
