Palak Paneer Recipe:



Ingredients:


  • 250g Paneer, cubed
  • Two bunches of Palak (Spinach), washed and finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Moong Dal, washed and soaked in water for 30 minutes
  • One medium Potato, peeled and chopped
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 1 to 2 Green Chillies, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Cream
  • 4-5 Garlic cloves, chopped
  • 3 Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Cornflour dissolved in 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt to taste









Instructions:




  1. In a pressure cooker, add soaked moong dal, chopped potato, onion, green chilies, chopped garlic, and 1/2 tsp salt. Add 1.5 cups of water, close the lid, and cook on medium heat for 3-4 whistles or until the dal and potato are cooked.
  2. Once the pressure is released, open the lid and mash the dal and potato with a potato masher. Keep aside.
  3. In a separate pan, add chopped tomatoes and cook on medium heat until soft and mushy.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool. Once cooled, blend the tomatoes to a smooth puree.
  5. In the same pan, heat butter on medium heat. Add the blended tomato puree and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the chopped palak (spinach) and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the palak wilts.
  7. Add the mashed dal and potato mixture to the palak and tomato puree. Mix well and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add cubed paneer and salt to taste. Mix gently and let it cook for 2-3 minutes or until the paneer is heated through.
  9. Add milk and cream and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  10. Add cornflour dissolved in milk and mix well. Cook for another 1-2 minutes or until the gravy thickens.
  11. Remove from heat and serve hot with naan, roti, or rice.
