Basic and sound nibble recipes are acquired from conventional Tibetan cooking. it is plain flour-based dumplings steamed with cabbage, carrot, and spring onion stuffing. it has turned into a famous road food all around the world and is commonly presented with a red-shaded zesty and watery momos chutney.



Ingredients:



  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 cup of grated carrot
  • 1/2 cup of chopped beans
  • 1/4 cup of chopped spring onions
  • 1/4 cup of chopped onion
  • One tablespoon of chopped ginger
  • One tablespoon of chopped garlic
  • One tablespoon of chopped chilies
  • One tablespoon of black soya sauce
  • One tablespoon of white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper powder
  • One tablespoon of refined oil
  • Salt to taste









Instructions:


For the momo dough:


  1. In a mixing bowl, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour and salt to taste. Mix well.
  2. Gradually add 1 Tsp Oil and water while kneading the dough until it becomes soft and smooth. Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes.



For the veg momo filling:


  1. In a mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup of chopped cabbage, 1/2 cup of grated carrot, 1/2 cup of chopped beans, 1/4 cup of chopped spring onions, 1/4 cup of chopped onion, 1 tbsp of chopped ginger, 1 tbsp of chopped garlic, 1 tbsp of chopped chilies, 1 tbsp of black soya sauce, 1 tsp of white vinegar, 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder, 1 tbsp refined oil, and salt to taste. Mix well.



To assemble the momos:


  1. Roll out the momo dough into a small circle shape.
  2. Add a spoonful of the veg momo filling and shape it as desired.
  3. Fold the circle in half and pinch the edges together to seal the momo. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.



To cook the momos:


  1. Steam the momos in a steamer basket for about 10-12 minutes or until the dough is cooked through.
  2. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
