Ingredients:
- Chana (Chickpeas) - 150 grams
- Onion paste - 2 medium-sized onions
- Tomato paste - 2 medium-sized tomatoes
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Fennel seeds - 3/4 teaspoon
- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 1/2 teaspoons
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander leaves - for garnishing
Instructions:
- Soak the chickpeas overnight in enough water to cover them. The next morning, drain the water and rinse the chickpeas with fresh water.
- In a pressure cooker, add the soaked chickpeas, onion paste, tomato paste, ginger-garlic paste, green chili, pepper, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom, and 2 cups of water. Mix well.
- Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook on medium heat for 3 to 4 whistles, or until the chickpeas are tender.
- Once the pressure is released, open the lid of the pressure cooker and add the chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the chickpea mixture from the pressure cooker. Cook on medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until the gravy thickens.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
