      Home-made Chole (Chickpea Curry)

Chana masala, in a real sense 'blend of flavored little chickpeas, otherwise called channa, chole masala, chole masala, chole, or chholay (plural), is a dish starting from the Indian subcontinent. The fundamental fixing is various chickpeas called chana or kala chana ('dark chana') which are roughly a portion of the breadth of commonplace chickpeas with a more grounded flavor and firmer surface even after being cooked.

Chickpea curry is the Best Indian conventional food. Indians in outside nations like the USA, Canada, and the Assembled Realm eat this with entire love and excitement.

Here's a recipe for Chole (Chickpea Curry) using the below ingredients:-



Ingredients:



  • Chana (Chickpeas) - 150 grams


  • Onion paste - 2 medium-sized onions


  • Tomato paste - 2 medium-sized tomatoes


  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon


  • Green chili - 1


  • Pepper - 3/4 teaspoon


  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon


  • Fennel seeds - 3/4 teaspoon


  • Bay leaf - 1


  • Cinnamon stick - 3 to 5


  • Cloves - 7


  • Cardamom - 2


  • Oil - 3 tablespoons


  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon


  • Coriander powder - 1 1/2 teaspoons


  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon


  • Salt - to taste


  • Coriander leaves - for garnishing









Instructions:



  • Soak the chickpeas overnight in enough water to cover them. The next morning, drain the water and rinse the chickpeas with fresh water.


  • In a pressure cooker, add the soaked chickpeas, onion paste, tomato paste, ginger-garlic paste, green chili, pepper, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom, and 2 cups of water. Mix well.


  • Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook on medium heat for 3 to 4 whistles, or until the chickpeas are tender.


  • Once the pressure is released, open the lid of the pressure cooker and add the chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.


  • Heat oil in a pan and add the chickpea mixture from the pressure cooker. Cook on medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until the gravy thickens.


  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
